The Baroque Collection

Today i'm going to be talking about new collection that I have successfully completed inspired by the Baroque trend and pattern. To make it simple - Baroque pattern is basically a load of fancy spirals and leaves put together to make a pattern. There are 5 dresses in this collection, I decided to do five because I thought it would be a decent number and less means less rushing and I can take my time and make the quality of the illustrations really good.

This was the first dress in this collection and I really took my time and decided that red and Gold would be good colours for this dress. I sketched it, fine lined it and then coloured it in using Copic Ciao markers and later edited it. If you would like to know how I edit my drawings then please comment.

The second dress in this Collection was blue complimented with Gold. I'm not to sure what exactly I wanted the top to be about... I was aiming for a sort of  metallic golden look but I think it failed lol but overall I was still super happy with this illustration and how it turned out. For this illustration I tested out my newest markers - the Fine colour markers and with the correct blending they made some fantastic fabric drapes.

The third dress was inspired by warm greys and putty kind of colours, I decided to do this because so far I had already done two bright and bold dresses and sometimes a contrast is good. I decided to also add mesh at the top of the dress instead of making it strapless and add sequins. I did this by drawing the pattern with pencil and going over it using a dotted line with white gel pen and then adding dots with tipex to create bigger sequins.

The 4th dress was again red and Gold because the first dress was my favourite out of this whole collection so I tried to mimic it and do something like it. My model is bald because that's the style I was going for.

The last dress could be mistaken for a wedding gown but it isn't, it just looks like one. I was really fortunate my marker carried me all the way till the end of this illustration because as soon as I had coloured half of the dress it started to run out so it may look a bit patchy. I drew a baroque design on it in brown pencil and then drew gold dots on top with a golden gel pen which took a very long time.

Thanks to everyone who read this post, please comment down below and tell me what you think and what can be improved and watch out for my next post which is going to be a tutorial on designing a collection.

Newly created Blog!

Hey guys!

So, I've taken the job of two blogs on... How!? (When I can't even manage the first one?) Well! I decided to make a seperate blog for my artwork and all things to do with me! So this is it! On this blog I will be posting my drawings, how I did them and basically inside secrets as to how I create my drawings.

Why?

I decided to do this because Loveheart Doodles (which has not been abadoned) is currently a bit allover the place and the mish mash in posts are really terrible. I mean, I post something about a drawing, then the next day an emotional post and then the next day an OOTD... which is weird so to conclude Loveheart Doodles will still contain:

  • Tutorials (Art)
  • Fashion (OOTD'S, Best Buys, Hauls)
  • Hair and Beauty
  • Tag posts
The only thing that has changed is a new blog being added to support my artwork.
This is a beginner blog so please do support, follow and subscribe to posts if you like my artwork and would like to be the first to know about a new drawing!
